Welcome to the Outdoor Achievement Group, L.L.C.

The Outdoor Achievement Group, L.L.C. is actively seeking qualified applicants to assume the role of (A) Contract Facilitator and (B) Contract Clinical Consultant.  Special consideration given for female applicants and applicants who are interested in facilitating OAg's 1-day Get W!ld courses.

Roles of the OAg Facilitator and Clinical Consultant

  • OAg facilitators are responsible for planning, organizing, and facilitating retreat activities including the Wilderness Discovery Course (WDC), Wilderness Adventure Course (WAC), Wilderness Survival Course (WSC, and Leadership Challenge Course (LCC).
  • OAg facilitators work closely with clinical consultants to develop a plan for personal growth for students participating in the DISCOVERY program.
  • Clinical consultants work closely with students, families, teachers, counselors, and facilitators to develop a plan for personal growth for students participating in the DISCOVERY program.
  • Clinical consultants monitor student progress, provide therapeutic input, and adjust development goals as necessary.
  • Clinical consultant make field visits during the Wilderness Discovery Course (WDC) for the purpose of monitoring student progress and providing therapeutic input.

Benefits and Reimbursements

  • Facilitators and clinical consultants are contracted at a rate of $75.00 to $95.00 per field day and $55.00/day for administrative work and non-field days.  Individual rates are commensurate with experience.
  • Clinical consultants are contracted at rate of $225.00 for each student consult.
  • Facilitators and clinical consultants receive reimbursement for travel at a rate of $0.50/mile and $36.00 daily per diem when necessary for food and incidental expenses.

Qualifications

  • Facilitators must possess a combination of (A) bachelors degree in psychology, sociology, social services, criminal justice, recreational therapy, or related field or (B) four years experience working with at risk and or troubled youth at a residential facility or (C) the substantial equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Clinical consultants must be a certified or licensed professional possessing a masters degree or substantial equivalent.  Examples include Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Licensed Psychologist (PhD, PsyD, EdD).
  • Facilitators must possess substantial experience planning, organizing, and leading wilderness expeditions.
  • Facilitators must have substantial experience working with struggling and at risk youth from a variety of social and economical backgrounds.
  • Facilitators and clinical consultants must have an understanding and appreciation of Wilderness Adventure Therapy (WAT) as a therapeutic modality.
  • Facilitators and clinical consultants must submit to a detailed investigation of their criminal history and driving record every 12-months.1
  • In accordance with state law and OAg policy facilitators and clinical consultants are required to report cases of known or suspected child abuse.
