OAg's Student-Athlete Transition Program (SATP) is designed to address specific issues facing middle school and junior high aged students. Help ensure your student has the tools necessary for success both in the classroom and on the playing field!
OAg courses provide an opportunity for students to disconnect from the common distractions and pressures of daily life and focus on the issues that are central to their existence. Build Confidence, Courage, and Character! Work to promote a more Positive Image of Self!
Find your path to a brighter tomorrow!
A unique alternative to the "tough love" approach. OAg's
12-month flexible-term DISCOVERY program serves mainstream students
aged 10-18 struggling with challenging behaviors at home and in the
classroom who are ready to make positive changes in their life.
Academic Underachievement. Unhealthy Peer
Relationships. Manipulative Behaviors.
Difficulties at School. Lack of
Confidence. Poor Self-Image.
Defiance. Anger.
Lying. Do you remember the cheerful affect of
your child before the problems began? The DISCOVERY program is
an effective alternative for students at risk of Academic
Failure, Delinquency, or becoming
Chronic Offenders. Today's youth are exposed to an
environment where Drugs, Alcohol, Violence,
Sex, Money, and Peer Pressures exert and
overwhelming influence on their behaviors, emotions, and world view.
The youth of today are frequently protected from the natural
consequences of their actions. OAg's Non-Punitive
and Nurturing approach utilizes Natural
Consequences to promote and reinforce the ideas of
Personal Responsibility, Self-Reliance,
and Accountability.
Ready. Set. Explore!
OAg operates year-round.
Applications for admission can be submitted at any time.
Struggling teens are initially paired one-on-one with a
highly experienced and compassionate facilitator or
within a small group (1-2 students) during an intensive
5-10 day journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
The wilderness environment provides students with an
opportunity to disconnect from the common distractions
and pressures of daily life and focus on the issues
which govern their existence. Students return for
follow-up courses every 3-months which are typically
scheduled during the summer, fall/winter, and spring.
The DISCOVERY program incorporates an
Experiential Learning Model and Learner
Centered Education in a
Solution-Oriented environment which promotes
Personal Growth through "hands on"
wilderness experiences. Students experience
Individual Success in a
Non-Punitive and Nurturing
environment.
